Betty Pence

Betty Jean Hukill Pence, 71, of Ludlow died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at her daughter’s home.

Betty was retired from Deelites Dairy Bar (formerly Reeves Drive-In), Ludlow. She attended First Baptist Church, Ludlow and was a member of the Jr. O.U.A.M. Chapter # 42. Following her retirement, she worked for the Ludlow Family Pharmacy for five years. She enjoyed golfing in the Boone Links Tuesday AM League and she formerly played at Meadowood Golf Club for a number of years.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Pence, Sr. in 2008 and her step father, James O’Neal.

Survivors include mother, Faye O’Neal of Arroyo Grande, California.; son, Gerald “Jerry” (Mimi) Pence, Jr. of West Covington; daughters, Terry (Jim) Moncrief of Columbus, Ohio, Debby (Rufus) McIntosh of Hebron, Laura (Mike) Boatright Chaney of Ludlow, Sandy (Greg) Thornsburg of Covington, and Tina (Chad Wainscott) Kappes of Covington; step daughters, Linda Pence of Independence, Donna (Ken) Swenk of Florence and Debbie Peyton of Chillicothe, Ohio; sister, Linda Johnson of Fresno, California; brother, Chris (Linda) O’Neal of Ukiah, California; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Visitation is Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow. Funeral service is Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of St. Elizabeth, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.
