Charles A. Pietrowski, United States Air Force Retired, 84, of Ramstein-Miesenbach, Germany was born in Corbin, Kentucky on October 1, 1934 to Anthony and Alta Mae Pietrowski and passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 5, 2019 at St. ElizabethHealthcare, Edgewood, Kentucky, USA.

Charles was a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, retiring from Active Duty in 1984 after serving his country for 31 years. Upon retirement from active duty, Charles Pietrowski was employed as a Department of Defense Air Force Civilian—serving as HQ US Air Forces Europe Ramstein Base Traffic Management Officer, the Ramstein Air Base Athletic Director, and as a Guest Service Driver for the Ramstein Air Force Base Inn until his retirement from civilian employment in 2016 at 81 years of age and after a total of 61 years of devoted service with the United States Department of Defense.

Charles obtained a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma and excelled in supporting community activities—he was a stout sports official and commissioner in basketball, softball, volleyball, and football. Charles was a devoted to his religious faith as a Catholic; the health and welfare of his family; and commitment in support of the Air Force mission in the protection of the United States of America from all enemies.

Charles was currently in the United States with his daughter Debbie for his annual visit to family and friends in the Cincinnati and Kentucky area and to see the Cincinnati Reds.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years on August 5, 2011, Margarete Hildegard Prinz Pietrowski from Germany; and his parents, Anthony and Alta Mae (Scott) Pietrowski.

Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Pietrowski, USAF Retired, of Ramstein-Miesenbach, Germany and Pamela Pietrowski of Mason, Ohio; sister, Sr. Armella Pietrowski of Burlington; and brothers, Paul Pietrowski of Corbin and Frank Pietrowski of Montgomery, Alabama.

Services will be held in Ramstein, Germany and Charles will be interred with military honors in the Ramstein-Miesenbach Cemetery, Germany, where he will be buried with his wife Margarete.
