Dr. John D. Redden, M.D., 93 of Fort Mitchell passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016. He was in private practice in Covington for more than 60 years, having only retired about 3 years ago.

Dr. Redden was a longtime member of St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korea. He also served some time with the U.S. Army as well. Dr. Redden was a member of the Northern Kentucky Medical Society and the Kentucky Medical Association. He was aKentucky Colonel and he enjoyed woodworking and farming.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Patricia Michel Redden in 1982; a son, Gregory Redden; his parents, George and Mary Margaret Schickel Redden; and a granddaughter, Amy Freidel.

Survivors include daughters, Marla (John) Layne of Union, Dr. Michele (Kevin) Redden-Borowski of Fort Mitchell, Mariclaire (Jack) Freidel of Union, Julie (Steve) Goessling of Union, Lisa (Dave) Fischer of Alexandria and Annette (Jeff) Talkers of Union; sons, Patrick (Kate) Redden of Independence, Christopher Redden of Glencoe and John D. Redden, Jr. of Fort Mitchell; 25 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Visitation is Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 11:30 a.m.St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. Entombment, with military honors, to immediately follow in St. John Cemetery Mausoleum, Fort Mitchell.
