Elizabeth Catherine "Granny" Henson

Elizabeth Catherine "Granny" Henson, of Hebron, died Sunday, July 13, 2025 at VillaSpring Care Center, Erlanger.

Born on March 27, 1941 in Rabbit Hash, Kentucky, to the late Otis Elmer and Eleanor Catherine (Stephens) Slayback, Granny, as she was affectionately known to her grandkids, retired after many years of service with the Boone County Schools. She spent her entire working career at New Haven Elementary School, beginning as a volunteer before being hired on as a Cafeteria and Bus Aide. She was a 1960 graduate of Boone County High School.

Cathy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Hebron Ward. She enjoyed traveling, music and dance.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Louis Abdon in 1977; her second husband, E. Tom Henson in 2016; and son, Martin Abdon in 2013.

Surviving is daughter, Cheryl Koching; step daughters, Rita (Gil) Valter and Vera Brady (Steve) Meinken; step sons, Steve (Darlene) Henson and Phil (Kathy) Henson; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Funeral services to celebrate Granny's life will follow at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. Interment at Petersburg Cemetery, Petersburg.
