Gene Tackett

Gene Tackett, 91, of Walton, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. 

He was a U.S. Korean Army Veteran and a member of the First Church of Christ in Burlington. 

Gene was a retired self-employed barber stylist. He enjoyed sports, especially football, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. 

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Causby (Thornsberry) Tackett Sr; sister, Norma Meade; and brothers, James Tackett and Oliver Tackett Jr. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Sue (Noel) Tackett; son, Scott (Lori) Tackett; daughter, Gina Tackett; and grandchildren, Abigail, Alexander, Ryan, Cylas and Eutah. 

Visitation will be Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the First Church of Christ in Burlington with a funeral service following at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. 

Memorials are suggested to Disabled American Veterans, 860 Dolwick Drive, Erlanger, KY 41018.
