Harvey F. Pelley, Sr., 88, of Hebron, passed unexpectedly on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025, at his home.
Harvey was born on April 23, 1937, in Piner, Kentucky to the late Horace and Geneva (Colston) Pelley. He was a retired Construction Engineer and Public Works Director for the Boone County Fiscal Court. Harvey was a 40-year Member and Former Chief of the Hebron Fire Department; member of the Hebron Lutheran Church since 1962; member of the Hebron Lions Club; and a graduate of Boone County High School Class of 1955. He was also a certified Land Surveyor and a Steam Engineer licensed in Minnesota.
Harvey was preceded in death by his first wife, Emily Ann (Hempfling) Pelley; and his second wife, Margaret Ann “Peggy” (Justice) Pelley.
Survivors include his sons, Harvey F. “Hoagie” (Jill) Pelley, II and John F. Pelley; step daughter, Charity Barth; sister and brother in law, Carolyn Sue (Dave) Maxwell; five grandsons, Jacob (Lauren) Pelley, Adam (Jessica) Pelley, Scott (Alison) Pelley, Michael (Anna) Pelley and Kevin Pelley; 10 great grandchildren, Emerson Pelley, Foster Pelley, Colston Pelley, Eloise Pelley, Jack Pelley, John Pelley, Courtland Pelley, Wesley Pelley, Josephine Pelley, Caplan Pelley; and nieces, Jane Lynn Cozad and Julie Kalan.
Services are being planned for the end of January and the website obituary will be updated once they are scheduled.
