Helen Rogers Garvey

Helen Rogers Garvey, 93, of Burlington, Kentucky passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Legacy Living, Florence, Kentucky. 

Helen was born on March 2, 1931, in Nashville, Tennessee to Albert and Sue (Pierce) Rogers. Helen retired from the Boone Co. Public Schools following a long career in Elementary Education at Goodridge Elementary School, Hebron. She was a longtime active member of Hebron Lutheran Church, Hebron, member of the Boone Co. Retired Teachers, the Kentucky Retired Teachers Associations and a charter member of the Stringtown Quilters Guild. 

Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gerald W. Garvey in 2012; her parents, Albert and Sue Rogers; son in law, Craig Holocher; brother, Tom Rogers; and brother-in-law, James Roberts. 

Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie (Jerry) Sarver, Arlene (Bob) Greenwood and Valerie Holocher; son, Roger (Lecia) Garvey; sister, Jane Roberts; sister in law, Carolyn Rogers; nine grandchildren, Erin Greenwood, Lindsay (Nathan) Lamb, Tiffini (Tim) Hill, Scott (Elizabeth) Sarver, Joshua Garvey, Miranda (Paul) Hahs, Tom (Brent) Willis, Charlie (Autumn) Willis and Jesse (Sophorn) Willis; and 10 great grandchildren. 

Visitation 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the Hebron Lutheran Church, 3140 Limaburg Road, Hebron, KY. Services to immediately follow at 12:00 Noon. Inurnment will be in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery, Hebron. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron is serving the family.
