James Blackburn

James William Blackburn, 87, of Covington died Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Owenton Manor, Owenton.

Jim was a World War II Army Veteran. He retired after 38 years as an expeditor with the Wm. Powell Valve Company, Cincinnati. He was a member of Mother of God Church, Covington and a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia O’Rourke Blackburn, and a son, Gary Lee Blackburn.

Survivors include daughters, Margie Blackburn of Covington, Ginny (Jim) Nussbaum of Erlanger and Dianne Blackburn of Covington; sister in law, Rose A. Blackburn of Taylor Mill; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 12:05 p.m. at Mother of God Church, Covington. Reverend Raymond Hartman to celebrate Mass. Interment, with military honors, at St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
