Joan M. Douglas

Joan McBroom Douglas, 91, of Florence, Kentucky passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Village Care Center, Erlanger, Kentucky. 

Joan was born on March 26, 1934, in Woodstock, Illinois to the late John E. and Emily (Burton) McBroom. She was a retired teacher for the Kenton County Board of Education at Dixie Heights High School, Edgewood and a member of Kento-Boo Baptist Church, Florence. Joan was also a member of the Kenton County Retired Teachers Association and in her spare time. she enjoyed painting, reading, arts, crafts and spending time outdoors. 

She was preceded in death by husbands, Larry Brunson and Richard A. Douglas; her parents, John and Emily McBroom and four brothers. 

Survivors include her daughters, Dianne (Tom) Secord and Lisa (Keith) Thomas; son, David (Martha) Thomas; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Visitation is 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon, Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger. Funeral services follow at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, Fort Myers, Florida.
