Larry Wayne Gouge, 86, of Burlington, Kentucky passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Larry was a loyal Kentucky fan, enjoyed traveling and adventure, and had an ability to always see life as “glass half full.” Larry never met a stranger and was an avid hunter, often taking trips out west with friends and his beloved hunting dogs. He enjoyed playing cards of all kinds, often with a bourbon in hand, and somehow almost always found a way to win. The only thing he was more passionate about was his family.
Larry was born in Simpsonville, Kentucky on December 15, 1938, to the late Howard and Geraldine (Hedger) Gouge. He was a Real Estate Broker and owned Gaines Realty for many years in addition to being President at the former Peoples Deposit Bank in Burlington. Larry, a devoted family man, cherished the time he spent with his loved ones, prioritizing it above all else. His 18-year tradition of taking an annual family trip to either the beach or a lake was a testament to this commitment.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Geraldine Gouge.
Surviving is his wife of nearly 64 years, Jo Ann (Aylor) Gouge; daughters, Lauri (Dave) Harshbarger, Rhonda (Bobby Lucas) Ellis, and Kristin (Johnny) Badida; brother, Jerry (Teena) Gouge; seven grandchildren, Kirby (Keith) Fugate, Logan (Brian) Uher, Dalton (Taylor) Harshbarger, Carson Ellis, Tristin Badida, Aylor (Hunter) Badida-Couch, Clayton Badida; seven great grandchildren with two more on the way.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, 1833 Petersburg Road, Hebron; UK attire is encouraged. A Celebration of Life Service begins at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will be in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery, Hebron, Kentucky.
