Leslie Schulz, D.D.

Leslie Charles Schulz, D.D. died peacefully at his home in Fort Wright on January 20, 2018.

The Reverend Leslie C. Schulz was born at home in Welcome, Texas on August 26, 1922.  He was the Pastor of The First Lutheran Church, Over the Rhine, Cincinnati, from 1956 to 1992. He was Pastor Emeritus of the church in his retirement.

The Reverend Schulz was a preacher and a disciple, a teacher, student, and a mentor. He also was a reader and a very good listener. He enjoyed fishing and being a fisher for the souls of men. He was a beacon of faith, and a beacon of light for humanity.

He is survived by his wife, of 70 years, Margaret W. (Wolf) Schulz; his children, Marie (Charles), Carol, Joy, Stephen (Brenda) and his grandchildren, Sasha (Andy), Molly, Kate and Annie. He also leaves behind thousands of people, whose lives he touched along his journey.

Services will be held at First Lutheran Church, 1208 Race St. Cincinnati, Ohio, on Wednesday, January 24, at 1:00 p.m.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  A light reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Lutheran Church, 1208 Race St. Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.
