Marian Weaver, 76, of Edgewood, died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Summit of Edgewood.
Born May 22, 1949, in Cincinnati to the late John and Virginia (Schaeffer) Vandergrift, Marian enjoyed a long career as a travel agent with Prestige Travel before retiring. She was married to Richard C. Weaver, who preceded her in death in 1979. After his sudden passing, Marian devoted herself to raising their daughter, Jill, and never remarried, saying Richard remained the love of her life.
Affordable vacations were the perk of being a travel agent and allowed Marian and Jill to make many road trips together, traveling to the beach and visiting national parks. Just prior to Marian’s failing health, their last road trip was to Acadia National Park in Maine. Marian enjoyed reading (especially cozy mysteries) and was a devoted rescuer of dogs and cats, often choosing those others overlooked. Her dogs Lucy (preceded her in death) and Desi were among her beloved companions.
Marian is survived by her daughter Jill Weaver (Galen Slade) and grandson Matthew Weaver (Lauren Auteri, fiancée).
A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 686 Mt. Moriah Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Boone County Animal Shelter, 5620 Idlewild Rd, Burlington, KY 41005.
Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron, is honored to serve the Weaver family.
