Mary Sandusky

Mary Alice Thornberry Sandusky, 95, of Fort Mitchell passed away Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Grant County.

Mary’s entire working career was with the US Government. She began with the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and continued in various agencies until she retired as Supervisor and Administrative Assistant for the U. S. Treasury Department and the IRS. She was also a longtime property manager at Fort Mitchell Commons and a member of St. Pius X Church, Edgewood. Her many hobbies included baking, cooking, crafting, needlework and fishing.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Thomas P. Sandusky in 1976; daughter, Patricia Saundra Sandusky; parents, Luke and May Ison Thornberry; and five siblings.

Surviving is her daughter, Lisa Sandusky of Fort Mitchell; nieces; nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation is Monday, April 11, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, Edgewood. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment at Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger is serving the family.
