Mary Volkering

Mary Joe Foley Volkering, 78, of Tamarac, Florida, formerly of Fort Wright, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in Tamarac.

She was a retired special education teacher for the Covington Independent School District, member of St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright and a former board member of N.K.A.R.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. “Jack” Volkering in 1989; and her parents, Everett and Edna Boehmer Foley.

Survivors include daughter, Tara (Eddie) Rodger of Plantation, Florida; grandson, E.J. Rodger of Plantation; sister, Fran (the late Harold) Foley-Leventhal of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Tom (Brenda) Foley of Independence; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Mass of Christian Burial is Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. Interment at Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.
