Russell Lawson

Russell Alan Lawson, 59, of Covington died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood following a brief illness.

Russell was born on February 5, 1963, in Covington, Kentucky to Kenneth and Mollie (Johnson) Lawson. He was a tireless worker. Over the last 20 + years, he loved investing in real estate by buying properties and renovating them. He was a man of many trades and could fix anything and renovating homes was his niche.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mollie (Johnson) Lawson; and a brother, Kenneth “Tinker” Lawson.

Survivors include his wife, April Lynn (Said) Lawson; son, Jason Shields; sisters, Joyce Lawson and Molly (Jimmy) Wagers; brothers, Kenneth Deskins and Charles (Brenda) Deskins; his best friend of more than 30 years, Ray Clinton; and a grandson, Jason Shields II.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2022, at the Chapel of Highland Cemetery. Entombment to follow the services.
