Russell "Rusty" Linton, a cherished husband, brother, and uncle, passed away at his home in Hebron, Kentucky, on January 4, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on May 24, 1961, in Covington, Rusty’s journey through life was marked by hard work, a passion for the outdoors, and a deep sense of family.
Rusty was a Gas Department Technician for Duke Energy and worked for them for 32 years. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church and his love for the outdoors was evident in his interests and hobbies. Rusty was a member of the Dutchman's Rod and Gun Club, where he found friendship while indulging in his passions for trap shooting and hunting.
Rusty leaves behind a loving family who will hold his memory close in their hearts. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joy (Mavity) Linton; his brother, Cliff (Sherry) Linton; brother in law, Mike Ernst; his beloved nieces and nephews, Brian (Ivy) Ernst and Corey (Nicole) Smith; and his step-son, Brooks Riegler.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Joan Linton; his brother, Jimmy Linton; and sisters, Bonnie Ernst and Gwen Meese.
A graveside service honoring Rusty’s life will be held on January 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Hebron Lutheran Cemetery, Hebron, Kentucky. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home is serving the family.

Rusty Linton touched the lives of many, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
