Shirley (Delk) Clayton

Shirley Ann (Delk) Clayton, 91, of Florence, Kentucky, formerly of Hebron, Kentucky, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Florence. 

Shirley was born on November 9, 1934, in South Fork, Lincoln County, Kentucky to the late William and Edith (Trimble) Delk. She was a retired Bookkeeper for the former Hebron Deposit Bank, charter member of Hebron Baptist Church, Hebron and was very active in the Food Ministry of the church. In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed cooking, reading and gardening. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Gene Clayton in 2017; her parents William and Edith Delk; grandson, Adam Clayton; two great grandchildren, Madison Engles and Aubrey Engles; and brothers and sisters in laws, Arnold (Judy) Delk, William “Cotton” (Maxine) Delk and Charles (Nettie) Delk. 

Survivors include her sons, Greg (Jerrie) Clayton and Mark (Rhonda) Clayton; grandchildren, Todd Clayton, Tera (Adam) Engles and Ashley (Stephen Thomas) Clayton; granddaughter in law, Leah Clayton; great grandchildren, Gabe (Larriah Stewart), Greta, Gwen, Nolan, Savannah, Olivia, and Clayton; and a great great granddaughter, Bee. 

Visitation is 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, Friday, September 18, 2026, at Hebron Baptist Church, 3435 Limaburg Road, Hebron, KY 41048. Funeral services to follow at 12:30 pm. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, KY. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron, KY is honored to be serving the family.
