Trenton “Tom” Slone, 84, of Edgewood passed away Wednesday morning, May 24, 2017 at Woodcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Elsmere.
Tom was a retired Trainer and Breeder of Thoroughbred horses. His career spanned decades working and racing at Churchill Downs, Keeneland, Turfway Park and River Downs. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a longtime member of Russell Cave Baptist Church, Lexington and he attended Fort Mitchell Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Mercy Justice Slone; and a brother, Linton Slone.
Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Demaurice Anderson Slone; sons, Tony Slone of Burlington and Matt (Shannon) Slone of Lexington; grandchildren, Tori Slone Kitchell of Dillsboro, Indiana, Zack Slone of Douglas, Wyoming and Scarlett Slone of Burlington; and great grandchildren, Kora and Regan Kitchell.
All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger.
