Vada L. Thornberry

Vada L. (Jones) Thornberry, 79, of Ludlow, Kentucky passed away Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Baptist Village Care Center, Erlanger, Kentucky. 

Vada was born on May 6, 1947, in Edmond, West Virginia to the late Earl Joseph and Mamie Julia (Bragg) Jones. She was a retired Teacher’s Aide for the Ludlow Elementary School; a member of Southside Baptist Church, Covington, Kentucky, Past President of the Ludlow Elementary PTA and a Kentucky Colonel. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Thornberry, Sr. in 2009; daughter, Rita Wofford Dickmann in 2014; daughter in law, Debbie Thornberry; and brother, Lester Jones. 

Survivors include sons, George Thornberry, Roy Thornberry, Jr., Ronnie (Yasmina) Wofford, Sam (Heather) Thornberry, Randy (Vikki) Wofford and Chris (Veronica) Thornberry; daughter, Aletha Baron; sister, Sharon Hamilton (Dave) McMullen; brother, Joe (Prestine) Jones; sister in law, Vicky Jones; and an abundance of grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Visitation is from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, 1833 Petersburg Road, Hebron. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the funeral home. Interment at Burlington Cemetery, Burlington, Kentucky.
