William Umbarger
October 10, 1933 — September 30, 2009
SFC William "PaPaw Bill" Ernest Umbarger, (retired), 75, of Burlington, died Wednesday, September 30 at Healthcare of St. Elizabeth, Edgewood. He was a 23 year veteran of the United States Army, having served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie L. Robinson Umbarger; daughters, Tammy Umbarger of Union and Diane Umbarger of Springfield, MO ; sons, Scott (Shannon) Umbarger of Hebron, Matthew (Susan) Umbarger of Park Hills, Mark (Angela) Umbarger of Burlington, and William Douglas Umbarger of Springfield, MO; sisters, Ellen, Jean, Ann, and Shirley; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Allison, Michael, Jonathan, Heather, Daniel, Andrea, Jordan, Isabelle, Addison, Kassandra, and Shawna; and great granddaughter, Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ruth Darley Umbarger.
