Marian “Marcy” (Frederick) Conner, 71, of Hebron, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2020 at the Alois Alzheimer Center after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Marcy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 12, 1949; the daughter of the late Katherine (Stern) and Melvin Frederick. She attended nursing school at Deaconess Hospital and enjoyed a 40-year career as a Registered Nurse at Deaconess.
While in nursing school she met the love of her life, Dennis. They married on October 6, 1972, had two children-Jennifer and Eric- and made their home in Hebron, Kentucky.
Marcy dedicated her life to caring for others. As a nurse she received many accolades and served as Head Nurse in the Emergency Room. She was an extraordinary mother, supporting her two children in each of their activities and endeavors.
In retirement, she volunteered her time at Mary Queen of Heaven Church in Erlanger and as a teacher’s aide at Goodridge Elementary School in Hebron. When her grandchildren were born, she was elated to step into the role of “Grandma Marcy” and care for her three precious grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, entertaining and traveling with family and friends.
Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at far too young of an age, she continued to enjoy time and travel with her husband and beloved family.
Preceding Marcy in death were her parents, Katherine and Melvin.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis Conner, who faithfully cared for her throughout her Alzheimer’s journey; her loving sister Kathy (Al) Humbert and brother Mel Frederick; her adoring children, Jennifer (Tom) Blatz and Eric (Sarah) Conner; and her three cherished grandchildren, Audrey, Conner and Claire.
Due to COVID, services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Marcy will be laid to rest at Hebron Lutheran Cemetery. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron is serving the family.
